Peim

Peim van der Sloot was born in the Netherlands and grew up on a biodynamic farm in Argentina. He returned in 2010 to complete his studies at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Even back then, he was exploring interesting intersections between design, visual art, and performance art. After running his own graphic design studio for five years and collaborating with companies such as Sagmeister & Walsh and Kunsthal Rotterdam, he now focuses exclusively on his independent projects. The aesthetic of his art is based on grids and their distortion, using repetition as a compositional method. With an approach that is both minimalist and punk, Peim responds ironically, poetically, and critically to an increasingly capitalist world. His projects and collaborations have been exhibited in various galleries, including Kunsthal (NL), Kapitaal (NL), Tanec Praha (CZ), Amsterdams Grafisch Atelier (NL), B#S Gallery (IT), Musiques Démesurées Festival (FR), Ship of Fools (NL), Alfred ve dvore (CZ), Arti et Amicitiae (NL), and MIADA (CN).
