Michael Zander

Michael Zander had a happy childhood. He then studied communication design, specializing in book design and illustration, at Trier University of Applied Sciences. Immediately after graduating, he bought an old printing press, which he still uses regularly today. Since 2010, he has been working as a freelance illustrator, but he also loves creating screen prints, risographs, monotypes, woodcuts, and linocuts. He also leads workshops on manual printing techniques at the AID Academy for Illustration and Design in Berlin, as well as at the Supalife Kiosk. He recently bought a truck—a 1970 Daimler-Benz. He plans to convert it into a living room this summer. His printing press fits inside, too. He lives in Dresden.
