Christian Schellhorn

Christian Schellhorn is an artist from Berlin. Born in 1979 in Tunisia, he grew up moving back and forth between Germany and Chile. He works as an architect and landscape architect. Christian has developed an unusual method of transforming his knowledge from these fields into abstract works of art characterized by geometric forms. His work presents itself as a kind of blend of model-making and drawing. Christian uses materials such as tape, cardboard, and ink to create the printing plates for his works. Through this unconventional approach, linear structures and geometric forms are simultaneously condensed and dissolved in his works. These processes can be recognized in the images as layers that permeate the prints, ranging from the smallest structures to the largest surfaces. In his works, these linear abstractions do not merely remain flat on the surface; they also function as spatial interpretations and invite the viewer to immerse themselves in his prints.
